The Ruins of Talisay, Bacolod City

Getting to the The Ruins is a 15min drive from downtown of Bacolod City. It is situated in Barangay Bata Talisay City. The mansion was built in the early 1900's by Don Mariano Ledesma Lacson. It was the biggest mansion built at that time. The mansion fate was ended in the early part of World  War II. The guerilla fighters of the Philippines burnt the mansion to prevent Japanese to utilize this as their headquarters. As today, the 903sqm structure still stands and became one of the most popular tourist destination in Visayas region.

We arrived at exactly 8:00am. We were the first visitors who came. It has a restaurant that offers a Mediterranean cuisine. Before exploring it's rich history, we decided to have coffee first since we are not breakfast eaters.

As we entered the mansion and start our exploration, we were greeted by the sound of a beautiful fountain.

The caretaker (forgot his name) offered his help on holding our cameras and took our photos.

He is unbelievably good and knew the perfect spots.

Even the perfect jump shot.

The tricks..

He never stops clicking...

The architecture of the mansion is Italian inspired as the caretaker continuously brief us with its history. One of  Don Lacson's son supervised its construction and he made sure the A-grade cement mixture was precisely followed.

It took days of inferno to bring down the roof and the 2-inch wooden floors.

The luscious garden and landscape adds to the beauty of the place. Truly, a picture-perfect backdrop  and magnificent destination you must not fail to see.
